Today’s innerspring options are worlds beyond the austere, creaky, or overly springy kind you likely slept on growing up. And nowadays you can order one online, often at a price similar to that of a foam mattress. The key is to know what you’re getting. That’s why, over the past two years, we’ve visited more than a dozen mattress showrooms and stores, interviewed experts, and pored over spec sheets to zero in on 20 contenders.
